Clark  County Clerk Reopens Passport Acceptance Operation

Clark  County Clerk Reopens Passport Acceptance Operation

After a long closure due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Clark County Clerk is reopening its passport acceptance facility at the Marriage License Bureau in the Regional Justice Center, located at 201 E. Clark Ave., Las Vegas, NV 89101. Appointments are required and must be scheduled for each person applying for a passport. Appointments are in 15-minute blocks.

“Like everyone else, the State Department has been understaffed, so recertifying our facility and staff after COVID took longer than we had anticipated,” said Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya. “But we are opening for business with hours that should complement other passport acceptance facilities by focusing on evening and weekend availability. As people begin traveling again, we know how critical it is to be able to apply for your passport easily and at your convenience.”

Starting Sunday, Nov. 6, appointments for passports can be booked online at https://weddings.vegas/business-services/passport-acceptance/. Appointment times are are available Sunday through Thursday evening, 6 p.m. to 7:45 p.m.

There is a $35 fee to Clark County to accept your passport application. Additional fees apply for the State Department to process the application. Passport fees may be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/passports/forms-fees/Passport%20Fees%20Chart_TSG_JAN%202022.pdf.

The Clerk’s Office takes passport applications and sends them to the State Department for processing, which currently can take up to 6 to 9 weeks. Applicants may pay an additional fee of $60 to expedite the processing. Expedited processing is currently estimated to take 3 to 5 weeks. Processing times begin the day the State Department receives the application at a passport agency or center, not the day you apply at the acceptance facility.

Detailed information on documents needed and how to apply may be found here: https://weddings.vegas/business-services/passport-acceptance/.
