Clark County Clerk's Office Expands Passport Acceptance Services

Clark County Clerk's Office Expands Passport Acceptance Services

In an effort to offer more passport services to the community, the Clark County Clerk's Office announced extended hours and a new location to make it more convenient for local residents to apply for their passports. Passport services are now available as follows:

  • The Marriage License Bureau in downtown Las Vegas at 201 E Clark Ave now offers passport acceptance services Sunday through Thursday from 3:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m., with additional walk-in hours from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Note that this location does not provide passport photo services.

  • The Clark County Government Center located at 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy now offers passport services Monday through Thursday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. (closed on all County-observed holidays). A new and convenient passport photo booth is available on-site, with photographs payable by credit card only. Cost for the photos is $14.99 and it provides two 2″x 2″ photos on a 4″x6″ photo sheet that can be brought to the appointment.

“With these expanded services, we want to offer more options for our residents to apply for passports,” said Clark County Clerk Lynn Marie Goya. “It can be especially challenging for those who work diverse non-traditional business hours to find time to apply for a passport. We offer appointments during the evenings and on Saturdays and Sundays to make it easier.”

There is a $35 fee to Clark County to accept a passport application. Additional fees apply for the State Department to process the application. Passport fees may be found here: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/passports/how-apply/fees.html

The Clerk’s Office takes passport applications and sends them to the State Department for processing, which currently can take up to 6 to 8 weeks. The State Department offers applicants the option to pay an additional fee of $60 to expedite the processing. Expedited processing is currently estimated to take 2 to 3 weeks. Processing times begin the day the State Department receives the application at a passport agency or center, not the day you apply at the acceptance facility.

Passport acceptance appointments can be booked up to 15 days in advance. Please note, our service is exclusively for new passport applications. Existing passport holders are required to submit any renewals directly to the State Department.
