Marriage Records

A Marriage License allows a couple to marry in the state but it is not proof of marriage.  If you need proof of marriage, contact the Clark County Recorder's Office. You can order a certified copy of your marriage certificate online from their website.

Marriage license records dating from 2001 to the present may be searched using our online search feature.

If you require a search of marriage records for licenses issued prior to 2001, write to:

Marriage Services
P. O. Box 551603
Las Vegas, NV  89155-1603

The fee is $.50 for a plain copy or $6.50 for a certified copy. In your written request, provide the bride and groom's name along with the year the license was obtained. If you are not sure of the year, enclose $.50 per name, per year for each year to be searched. Also enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope so we may mail your copy to you.

NOTE:  Requestors from foreign countries may send an international money order or a check drawn on a U.S. bank in U.S. funds, payable to County Clerk, to the address above for a copy of the Marriage License. We cannot accept credit cards via mail, email, or fax.  If you need proof of marriage, you may obtain a certified marriage certificate recorded with the Clark County Recorder's Office.

Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 19 requires that we charge fees for copies and a records search.  A number of requests for copies are received through the mail, and frequently customers will pay more than what is required by statute.  Overpayments of $10 or less will not be refunded by this office except upon a specific request by the customer.  Requests for a refund of an overpayment must be submitted in writing within 60 days of the receipt and and include the receipt number.
