District Attorney Applicants
District Attorney David Roger retired from the office Jan. 3, leaving three years remaining to be served on his term of office. To fill the position, Clark County solicited applications from the community. Seven people submitted applications by the Dec. 9 deadline. County Manager Don Burnette appointed a special committee to review the applications and forward a short list of finalists to the County Commission, which must appoint a replacement. On Jan. 6, the screening committee forwarded the names of three candidates. On Jan. 17, during the Clark County Commission meeting, the Commission heard presentations from the three finalists and questioned them in a public setting. County Commission Chair Susan Brager has indicated that she will ask the Commission to reconvene in a special meeting the week of Jan. 23 to make a final decision on the appointment.
