Steven Wolfson Appointed District Attorney
Steven Wolfson was appointed district attorney during a special County Commission meeting Tuesday, Jan. 24. Wolfson, a Las Vegas city councilman since 2004 and owner of Wolfson and Associates, Attorneys at Law since 1990, will serve for the remaining three years left in the term of David Roger, who retired Jan. 3. Wolfson currently sits as a Las Vegas City Councilman, a position from which he will resign to become District Attorney. Wolfson was among seven candidates who applied for the position. A screening committee appointed by County Manager Don Burnette reviewed the applications and interviewed the candidates before narrowing the field to three finalists. Those three made presentations to the County Commission during a 4 1/2-hour session Jan. 17. Wolfson will have to campaign in the next election cycle to retain the position.
