Randall J. Tarr was appointed Assistant County Manager on June 1, 2010, by the Clark County Board of Commissioners. He will serve as one of three assistant county managers. Tarr has been the County’s director of Real Property Management (RPM) since January 2008.
As assistant county manager, Tarr's responsibilities will include overseeing development-related departments such as Public Works, Real Property Management, Comprehensive Planning, Development Services, Business License, and Air Quality and Environmental Management. Additionally, he has oversight of Parks & Recreation and the Water Reclamation District and he works with the County Assessor and Recorder offices. He also will be the County Manager’s Office representative to agencies such as the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada and the Regional Flood Control District.
Tarr has more than 22 years experience working in the local development industry. Prior to joining Clark County, Tarr worked for Lewis Operating Corp. and KB Home. He also has previous experience working for the City of North Las Vegas Public Works Department and private engineering with Carter Burgess, Inc.
Tarr has a Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and is a registered professional engineer in Nevada.
