George Stevens serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Clark County and has 21 years of experience in public finance. He directs the management of all County financial functions including budgeting and financial planning; accounting and payroll; grants management; financial systems; risk management; procurement and contract administration; debt management; and community resources. In addition, he works with the department of Information Technology, Human Resources, Elections and County Treasurer.

Prior to his appointment to Chief Financial Officer in 1997, George served as the Director of Finance for the City of Las Vegas and as the County’s Assistant Director of Finance. Among other duties, George had the full responsibility for the operation of the County’s self-funded liability; workers’ compensation; and group insurance programs.

In July 2003, Gov. Kenny Guinn appointed George to the Board of the Public Employees’ Retirement System (PERS).

George has a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Pittsburgh and Master’s of Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
