Court Reporter 
The function of the court reporter is to report and prepare a transcript of the court proceedings. The transcribed testimony from the hearing is useful in making clear the judge's decision, and it is necessary if one or both parties is not satisfied with the decision and the case is appealed. Court reporters are independent contractors, and NOT employees of the court. 

The cost of hiring the court reporter is $30.00 per hour, which does not include the cost of the transcript, which is $4.10 per page. 

You MUST make arrangements in advance for the court reporter to be present to transcribe your case.
