The Office of Sustainability was created at the direction of the County Commission as an early step to assist in the coordination of sustainability efforts countywide. The Office of Sustainability formed in June 2009 and is supported by a 25-member Sustainability Task Force (STF). The STF consists of representatives from all major County departments, regional and State and Federal agencies, including Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Southern Nevada Regional Transportation Commission (RTC), Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA), University Medical Center and other regional agencies. Private partner Republic Services also participates in STF meetings.
