Lynn Marie Goya was elected to the office of Clark County Clerk and has been in office since January 2015.
Las Vegas has long been known as the Wedding Capital of the World and its Wedding Tourism generates over $2.5 billion to the local economy each year while promoting jobs, small and women-owned business strength as well as Clark County's economic stability.
Lynn's initiatives to support this key industry include co-founding the Las Vegas Wedding Chamber of Commerce and working with the LVCVA to launch its inaugural dedicated wedding tourism advertising campaign.
She has spearheaded promotional campaigns including Las Vegas Marries the Military in 2017 and 2018, "Say Yes to the UK Dress", May as Royal Wedding Month and the Pop-Up Marriage License Bureau at McCarran Airport over Valentine's Day. Her efforts have generated over $20 million in national and international publicity for Las Vegas weddings.
With degrees in English and Economics from San Diego State University, she became a professional writer and editor, publishing numerous books and hundreds of articles about women & girls, the environment, architecture and design, arts & entertainment and veterans. She is an award-winning playwright, an Emmy-nominated writer, received the Frederick L. Ryan Award for Economics and is a recognized community activist. She is the mother of three millennial children and wife of 35 years to Alan Goya, a noted local portrait and landscape photographer.
