Nuclear Waste at Yucca Mountain

Yucca Mountain is a ridge of volcanic rock about 90 miles from Las Vegas.  The Yucca Mountain Project is the United States Department of Energy's proposed storage site for radioactive waste from nuclear power plants and national defense sources.

The Comprehensive Planning Nuclear Waste Program offers facts, documents, informational materials and perspectives on the Yucca Mountain Project and its impact on the citizens and environment of Southern Nevada.

The Clark County Monitoring Program collects Economic, Fiscal, Environmental, and Public Health and Safety information for the Southern Nevada region.  This provides a baseline for Yucca Mountain Project policy discussions.

The Licensing Support Network provides documents related to the Department of Energy's application to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to construct the Yucca Mountain storage site.
