The Constable is an elected position that serves a four year term and is one of the oldest law enforcement agencies in the state of Nevada. Empowered with the authority of a peace officer by state law, the Constable serves a vital role in the legal process by executing the orders of the court in civil and criminal matters, small claims, evictions, as well as providing a variety of legal functions.
Earl Mitchell has been a Nevadan since 1975 and has spent his entire adult life proving his commitment to our community. As a 20-year Navy/Naval Reserve veteran and a 22-year veteran of the Henderson Police Department, Constable Mitchell knows how to handle challenges. Since becoming Constable in 1995, one of the biggest challenges has been to provide quality service during the tremendous growth in Southern Nevada.
Constable Mitchell has a strong understanding of the history and character of our community. His experience and training have enabled him to embrace growth by constantly evaluating new and better ways to meet the needs of a changing community. It is with this vision that Constable Mitchell will continue to serve the citizens in the years ahead.
