The Clark County Commission District D Office announced Monday, March 19, a new smartphone app contest, the "Great App Contest." The contest is open to anyone and group submissions will be accepted.
The contest asks citizens to submit an idea for a new app that would enhance or establish services, programs or community activities that improve the quality of life in Clark County. The contest deadline is April 14. Submissions should be made online through this link. Contest rules also are available via the link.
The winner will receive $500, special recognition during a County Commission meeting, and have their idea turned into a working app by App-Order.com. The winner will be announced in late April.
The contest is a partnership between the District D Commission Office and App-Order.com, which is the same company that created the “MyDistrictD” app two years ago. The “MyDistrictD” app allows users to easily and conveniently send graffiti and other code complaints to the County. Since it was launched in May, 2010, more than 2,000 residents have added this app to their smartphones.
