The department guides growth in Clark County through application of the Comprehensive Plan and Title 30, the County's development code. It works closely with developers, property owners, and other interested stakeholders as it relates to the development and its impacts. The Advanced Planning Division develops long-term policy plans, and deals with various long range planning issues and data. The Current Planning Division provides information on zoning, development reviews, and development code amendments. The department's core services are land use development, land use planning, population and demographics, zoning administration, comprehensive master plan administration, federal lands management, parks and trails planning, economic development, and nuclear waste program oversight. In addition, it is a member agency of the Southern Nevada Regional Planning Coalition whose goal is to address regional issues that affect the various jurisdictions.
