Commissioner Tom Collins' Biography
Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins has been a resident of Clark County virtually all his life. A Western High School graduate, he attended Midwestern and Texas Tech universities in Texas as well as Clark County Community College, currently the College of Southern Nevada, and the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The commissioner also is a PSI gradutate and completed the Nevada Power Company International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Apprentice Program.
Commissioner Collins is an avid supporter of rodeo at all levels and raises bucking stock. He also continues to compete in steer wrestling.
Commissioner Collins was sworn into office as County Commissioner for Commission District B on Jan. 3, 2005, to serve a four-year term. He was elected to a second four-year term that began on Jan. 5, 2009 and was sworn into a third four-year term on Jan. 7, 2013.
