An Armenian Genocide Memorial Monument was dedicated at Clark County’s Sunset Park on Nov. 20. The monument project is the initiative of the Armenian-American Cultural Society (AACS) of Las Vegas, with the participation of all Las Vegas Armenian churches and organizations and approval of the Clark County Commission. The monument pays tribute to the estimated 1.5 million Armenians who were killed by the Ottoman Turks between 1915 and 1923.
