Edward Finger was appointed assistant county manager Feb. 1, 2011 by the County Commission.

As assistant county manager, Finger's responsibilities include oversight of an array of County departments and operations including Elections, Fire, Human Resources, Information Technology, Employee Benefits and the Shooting Park. He also interfaces with the County Clerk's office and serves as the County Manager's office representative for the Southern Nevada Health District.

He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in Nevada and has more than 16 years experience in municipal finance. Finger most recently was assistant city manager for the City of Reno, Nev. Previously, he was the comptroller for Clark County. Finger also served as the County's assistant director of finance. 

Before relocating to Nevada, he served as finance director for the City of Thornton, Colo. and was a senior auditor for Grant Thornton, LLP where he performed financial statement audits, including local government audits.

He has served as a board member of the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, Clark County and Affiliates Self-Funded Group Medical and Dental Plan, and the Colorado Intergovernmental Risk Sharing Agency.  

Finger holds both a master’s in finance and a bachelor’s in business administration from the University of Colorado at Denver.
