Engineering
Engineering Services administers the Special Inspection Program through the approval and listing of Quality Assurance Agencies, special inspection personnel, amusement rides and transportation systems, and fabrication facilities that supply services and materials to the Las Vegas Valley. Engineering Services performs structural plans examination for the Building Department and provides technical assistance and code compliance monitoring during construction, both at the office and in the field.
Special inspections, as designated by the Building Code, are performed by Quality Assurance Agencies (QAA). Inspections performed by the assigned QAA do not eliminate the requirement of designated inspections to be completed by a Clark County inspector.
In most cases, an approved inspection report from the QAA is required to be on-site and available to the Clark County inspector at the time of their inspection. In addition, a QAA final report is required to be submitted for approval and approved by Engineering staff prior to the scheduling of a final inspection.
