Traffic Department

You may appear at the Henderson Justice Court counter on or before your scheduled court date if you wish to waive your scheduled appearance before a judge.

Henderson Justice Court handles traffic citations issued by the Nevada Highway Patrol, Henderson Police Department, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Union Pacific Railroad, Public Service Commission, Nevada Department of Wildlife, Motor Carrier Division, Clark County School District Police and the Clark County Park Rangers.

Juveniles:   All juveniles must appear with a parent or legal guardian.

Pre-Trial Conference:  If you plead NOT GUILTY at your Arraignment, you will be given a date for a pre-trial conference with a Deputy District Attorney. You or your attorney will need to be present at the pre-trial conference. At the pre-trial conference, negotiations are made between you and the Deputy District Attorney. If these negotiations are accepted, then you need to comply with the negotiations. If negotiations are not accepted at the pre-trial conference, the case will be set for trial after posting the bail amount listed on the citation. Only an attorney can schedule a Pre-Trial Conference by e-mail.

Traffic School:  If you have a moving violation, you may ask the Court for permission to attend a minimum five hour traffic school for point reduction on your driver's license if you meet the requirements. You may contact the clerk's office to see if you are eligible for traffic school. The list of acceptable Traffic Safety School is available at the Department of Motor Vehicle's Website . It is your responsibility to contact the school and verify the cost, payment arrangement, schedule, etc.  Upon completion, you will need to present the certificate to the Court so that the violation may be amended to one which involves less points than the original charge. You are allowed to attend traffic school only once per year.
