Jeff Witthun is the Director of the DA Family Support Division, responsible for the management and oversight of nearly 300 DAFS employees. He was born in Colorado and raised in Northern California. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1989 with a degree in Public Policy and Administration and received his law degree in 1993 from the University of the Pacific-McGeorge School of Law in Sacramento, California. He is currently licensed to practice law in California, Wisconsin and Nevada.
Mr. Witthun joined the DA Family Support Division as the Assistant Director in January, 2010, after being recruited from Wisconsin’s child support program (where he had been the Lead Attorney for the Kenosha County Child Support Agency for 10 years), to fulfill that role.
Mr. Witthun was the President of the Wisconsin Child Support Enforcement Association (WCSEA) from July 2003 until January 2010, when he joined DAFS. As President of WCSEA, Mr. Witthun worked on behalf of Wisconsin’s 71 county child support agencies in negotiations with the State of Wisconsin’s Department of Children and Families, the Bureau of Child Support, the Governor and many of Wisconsin’s state and federal legislators on critical issues relating to the state’s child support program.
Currently Mr. Witthun is a nationally-elected member of the Board of Directors of the National Child Support Enforcement Association (NCSEA) headquartered in Washington, D.C. As a member of the Board, Mr. Witthun has a voice and the ability to positively impact child support policy, legislation and regulation nationwide.
