Latino Heritage Month is a time to honor and celebrate the rich histories, cultures, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans. Observed each year from September 15 to October 15, the month-long celebration highlights traditions that span generations and communities, while recognizing the lasting impact Hispanic heritage has on our nation and our local community.

Experience the beauty and tradition of Mexican folklórico dance during the Amalia Viviana B. Hernandez Masterclass Showcase. The program will highlight the artistry, movement and colorful traditions that have made folklórico an important part of Mexico’s cultural heritage. The showcase is free and open to the public, with limited seating available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Guests can also visit craft and community vendors while connecting with the people and traditions that enrich Southern Nevada. Join Commissioners Tick Segerblom and William McCurdy II for a community festival celebrating Latino culture and heritage. The event will feature folklórico performances, live music, cultural exhibitions, community organizations, raffles, face painting and balloon art for children. This free, family-friendly event will have picnic-style seating, so guests are encouraged to bring blankets, and free food will be available while supplies last.
