District Attorney Steve Wolfson Announces Charges Against Assemblyman Steven Brooks
Clark County District Attorney Steve Wolfson announced today that Assemblyman Steven Brooks was charged with various criminal offenses stemming from an alleged domestic dispute with his estranged wife which occurred on February 10, 2013.
Brooks is charged by way of Criminal Complaint with one felony count of Resisting a Public Officer With Use of a Firearm, one gross misdemeanor count of Assault on an Officer, and two misdemeanors, including Battery Constituting Domestic Violence and Obstructing A Police Officer. If convicted, the felony charge carries a maximum sentence of five years and $10,000 fine.
A summons will be issued for Brooks to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court.
