Guided School Field Trips
Guided Field Trips and Virtual Field Trips are available only to CCSD Grades 3-5.
The status of in-person Field Trips for the 2020-2021 school year is uncertain. With planned changes to the Clark County School District classroom schedule and continuing concerns about COVID-19, it remains to be seen whether the traditional Field Trip program will be possible. Wetlands Park is planning no onsite Field Trips for the remainder of the 2020 calendar year.
For the 2020-2021 school year, Wetlands Park is exploring virtual options. A Virtual Field Trip is a remote opportunity to "explore" Wetlands Park with an interactive guide. A portion of the Virtual Tour will be pre-recorded, with Wetlands Park staff available live to answer student questions. Wetlands Park will also provide classroom activities intended to be facilitated by teachers to enhance the experience.
Tentatively, the Virtual Field Trip will be one hour, offered on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 am to 11:00 am (with some flexiblity) from October through April.
Launched in 2001, the Park's guided school field trip program is the longest-running and most prolific program offered at the Park. Wetlands Park welcomes
Clark County School District schools in
Grades 3 through 5 to participate.
