Junior Explorer Days

​​Come to the Exhibit Hall and pick up your Junior Explorer Activity Books. Learn about and explore some of the best places for families at the Wetlands Park Nature Preserve while you do fun, self-guided activities. Free. All Ages. Walk in.

Wetlands Park Nature Fun Run, 5K and 1K

9:30 am 1K Start 

Join us for a 5K Fun Run and 1K Nature Stroll at Wetlands Park Nature Preserve. This is an untimed event on uneven terrain. Participants will receive a t-shirt, raffle ticket race bib. Nature Center Fifth Anniversary activities (including race raffle) to follow event. Limited to 250 Total Participants.

Sponsored by The Nature Conservancy, Land Rover Las Vegas, REI, Sparkling Ice, and Real Alkalized Water.

Nature Center Fifth Anniversary Activities

Celebrating 5 years of the Wetlands Park Nature Center. Exhibits, live animals, and more fun activities follow the run in the Nature Center from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm. Free. Walk-in.

International Migratory Bird Day, coordinated by Environment for the Americas, celebrates and brings attention to one of the most important and spectacular events in the Americas - bird migration. IMBD is celebrated in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean at protected areas, refuges, parks, museums, schools, zoos, and more. More than 600 events and programs hosted annually introduce the public to migratory birds and ways to conserve them. ​​


 

BioBlitz

BioBlitz is a fun day of science in the park! Participants will identify plants, mammals, birds & birds with the help of scientists and naturalists. All observations are entered into a global database, iNaturalist, to help track biodiversity.
