BioBlitz is a fun day of science in the park! Come any time after 8:00 am to join in. Be a scientist for a day and identify plants, mammals, bugs, and birds with the help of expert scientists and naturalists. All observations are entered into a global database, iNaturalist.

At noon, come to the Wetlands Park Nature Center for a Data viewing party. Who can identify the most species?

This event is in partnership with the Las Vegas Science & Technology Festival.

Check out the results from the 2017 BioBlitz here.

WP Evening Lecture Wildland Fires Flyer.jpg
Wildland fires have a relationship and purpose within the enviornment. Some ecosystems are well adapted to fire and actually need it to maintain health, others are negatively affected and can be devastated by fires. Join us as Professor Scott Abella with the school of Life Science at UNLV explores how fire shapes ecosystems and how they have impacted places like Wetlands Park and lands of the West.
