The Walnut Recreation Center’s fitness room offers comprehensive strength and conditioning equipment at a reasonable price. Memberships may be purchased on a monthly or yearly basis, without long-term contracts or enrollment fees. Equipment includes: treadmills, stationary bikes, elliptical machines, free weights, dumbbells and resistance machines for arms, legs, chest and back.

General Education Development – GED
Walnut Recreation Center offers free ongoing G.E.D. classes. These classes will help to gain your General Equivalency Diploma. For registration and exam information, please call (702) 651-4487.
Walnut Recreation Center invites you to spend your special occasions (Weddings, baby showers, meetings, etc . . .) here and explore our many special event possibilities. We have several affordable rooms for rent and are able to accommodate groups of varying sizes. We encourage you to visit the center to see what we have to offer.
Meeting Rooms A, B, & C (Holds up to 50 people per room, or 150 for all three rooms.) $60 – First two (2) hours per room $20 – Each hour after first two (2) hours per room

- Minimum of two staff may be required per rental at $15.00 per hour per staff. These charges apply to all rentals.

- A refundable cleaning/damage deposit (check or money order – no cash) is required on day of rental, and can be returned immediately after event if the rental space is cleaned and restored back to it’s original condition.

Participants will learn the fundamentals of basketball with topics to include: Teamwork, sportsmanship & having fun! Practice will be on Mondays, with games scheduled for Wednesday evenings. This program provides fun and structured recreational activities. Prior to attending, a parent or guardian must complete an enrollment form for his/her child. Child (ren) 12 and older will receive a personal ID card to swipe daily to participate in this program. Replacement cards are $2 each. During summer, program time is from 2:00 – 6:00 pm.
After School Tutorial Program

Teen Leaders of the Future
Participant must apply for the Leader of the Future Program and be accepted before enrolling the Summer Leadership Teen Camp. Teen leaders will focus on leadership development, job training skills, team building, peer-to-peer effective communication, conflict resolution, decision-making activities, and social recreation. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about cultural awareness, diversity, stereotypes, understanding their rights, and how to make a difference in their community.
