Local Artists Invited to Apply for ZAP 10

Clark County artists are invited to submit their qualifications for inclusion in the tenth project of the very popular Zap! Public Art Program, which was originally launched by Clark County Parks & Recreation in 2005. 10 artists will be selected through an independent review panel, to design and paint their original creations, before the end of May 2018, on public utility boxes along East Cheyenne Ave, from the Las Vegas Wash Regional Trail Park, to Lamb Blvd, and around Walnut Recreation Center and Park (just south of Cheyenne Ave.).

This project is open only to artists over the age of 18 who reside in Clark County, Nevada, and who did not participate in Zap7; Zap8; or Zap9, and are not part-time or full-time Clark County employees. Artists selected must be available to attend an open community meeting at a date to be determined, as well as the reception for Zap 10 at a date to be determined. The selected artists will be required to provide their Social Security number or Federal Tax ID Number.
Each artist selected will be paid $2,500 in total, and must provide paint and supplies for the project. Artists will however be provided with anti-graffiti coating and an instructional lesson on applying the anti-graffiti coating to their completed boxes.
Artist Proposals should contain the following information:
1. Artist Name
2. Artist Address
3. Artist Phone
4. Artist Email
1. Include a brief resume of artist.
2. An artist statement of the artist body of work.
3. A statement of why this area of Clark County is important to the artist.
Digital Images of Artist’s Work
1. Include seven (7) digital images of artist’s work.
2. Images must be at least 72 dpi, maximum 200 dpi, maximum file dimensions 8” x 10” as jpg files.
3. Images must be numbered from 1 to 7, and a corresponding numbered list must be provided for each image with: artist’s name, title, dimensions, media, and year of completion.

Proposals will be accepted at the Clark County Government Center, or through the online application process, on or before FEBRUARY 9, 2018 at 3:00:00 p.m., based on the time clock at the Clark County Purchasing and Contracts front desk.
