3/1/2013 - First Public Auction of 2013, Saturday, March 2

The first two government surplus auctions of the new year will be held at 9 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, and Saturday, May 18, at 4320 Stephanie St., off Flamingo Road near Dog Fancier’s Park.

Clark County hosts the popular auctions three times a year. The date for the third auction of 2013, is not yet confirmed. In 2012 the auctions raised $3.4 million for participating governmental entities, including $971,000 for Clark County.  Each auction drew an average of 1,230 registered bidders.

The auctions feature vehicles, office equipment, lost and found electronics, and other items used or acquired by government agencies, including McCarran International Airport, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department and the area cities and state of Nevada.

A preview and pre-registration period opens three days prior to each sale. Anyone interested in bidding on merchandise is urged to pre-register on-site, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, during the three-day preview period to avoid long lines on auction Saturdays. To register, participants need to present a valid ID.  Payment is expected upon winning a bid. Cash, cashier's checks, credit cards, debit cards, traveler's checks and money orders are accepted.

For more information, visit TNT Auction’s website at www.tntauction.com. Clark County contracts with TNT Auction to manage the sales. A catalog of items being sold at auction gets posted on TNT’s website, and is updated regularly as the date of each sale approaches.  The vehicle portion of the auction occurs on-site and online simultaneously. Participants who plan to bid online for vehicles must register in advance of the sale online through TNT’s website. Anyone planning to participate in Saturday’s live auction to bid on vehicles or any other merchandise must register in person on site to participate.
