"Cultures of Las Vegas: The Chinese," a discussion of the culture, traditions and history of the Chinese people in the Las Vegas Valley and beyond, will debut on Clark County Television (CCTV) Monday, Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. and air through Sunday, Feb. 9.

Guest moderated by Fox 5 Reporter Tiana Bohner, "Cultures of Las Vegas: The Chinese" is a 30-minute discussion featuring Jan-ie Low, organizer of Chinese New Year in the Desert, the largest celebration of the lunar new year in Las Vegas; Asian Community Development Council President Vida Chan Lin and Eric Jeng, director of civic engagement; and Peter Lung, a master of feng shui. This show was produced by the Clark County Office of Public Communications & CCTV to coincide with the Lunar New Year, or "Chinese New Year," which occurs on Jan. 25 and ushers in the Year of the Rat.

The show also may be viewed on Clark County's YouTube channel at www.YouTube.com/ClarkCountyNV. A direct link to the show: https://youtu.be/wSXlaLr20eA. The show is also available on Clark County's "Cultures of Las Vegas" podcast available for iPhones and Androids.

"As a Chinese-American deeply rooted in tradition, it was eye opening for me to learn even more about our culture, customs and superstitions, tied to the popular holiday Lunar New Year," said Bohner.

"The Chinese culture is among the world's richest and most significant," said Erik Pappa, the County's director of Public Communications. "We are fortunate in Las Vegas to have such a vibrant Chinese community and I'm glad to showcase it here. I want to thank Fox 5 Reporter Tiana Bohner for moderating this discussion as well as the panelists for their insights."
