"Cultures of Las Vegas: The Italians," a discussion of the culture, traditions and history of Italians in the Las Vegas Valley and beyond, will debut on Clark County Television Monday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. and air throughout October, which is recognized as Italian-American Heritage Month.
Guest moderated by Dayna Roselli of KTNV Channel 13, "Cultures of Las Vegas: The Italians" is a 35-minute discussion featuring Dominic Gentile, the original publisher of La Voce magazine and emeritus Honorary Council for the Republic of Italy; Claudia Costantino-Griffiths of Casa Italiana di Las Vegas; and Frankie Scinta, a Las Vegas singer, musician and performer. This show was produced by the Clark County Office of Public Communications.
"We are all busy with work and family, but it's programs like this that remind us it's important to remember our heritage and celebrate it," Roselli said. "We can find ways to do that here in Clark County and it was a pleasure to host this month's show for Italian-American Heritage Month."
The show also may be viewed on Clark County's YouTube channel at www.YouTube.com/ClarkCountyNV. A direct link to the video: https://youtu.be/FA-X8QB_c3A.
"The contribution of Italians to the cultural life of Las Vegas is significant and very rich," said Erik Pappa, the County's director of Public Communications. "Italian-American Heritage Month presents us with an opportunity to help review the importance of this contribution to our community. I want to thank KTNV Channel 13 anchor Dayna Roselli for moderating this discussion and the panelists for their insights."
Additionally, the show is available on Clark County's new podcast, "Cultures of Las Vegas," available for iPhones and Androids.
