The Las Vegas Jazz Society will celebrate the 42nd anniversary of its Annual Jazz Picnic, a community tradition since 1977, right at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center. Bring your families, picnic lunches, and lawn chairs for an afternoon of the finest jazz in the area... all for FREE! Food and non-alcoholic drinks will also be available for purchase.
The lineup for the 42nd anniversary of the LVJS Community Picnic is as follows: Tom Hall's "Simply Bop Septet" at 2 p.m.; Patrick Hogan Quartet at 3 p.m.; Michael Nugent at 4 p.m., and Charles McNeal at 5 p.m. In between sets, students from Green Valley High School will be playing. There will also be a food drive for Epicenter on the Parkway.
Formed in 1975 by world-renown jazz artist and electric bass pioneer Monk Montgomery, the Las Vegas Jazz Society's purpose is to provide an opportunity for those who appreciate jazz to meet, exchange ideas, participate in common objectives, and share their common interest in jazz music.
