Maestro Oscar Carrescia, brings his Argentinian compatriots singer Damian Rivero, dancers, Daniela Rosal and Claudio Otero, and bandoneon player Javier Sanchez to work with Las Vegas musicians in a full-scale tango show, at 7 p.m. Friday, March 9 and at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 10 at Winchester Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, just north of Desert Inn Road. Light refreshments will be served outdoors in the garden. Tickets are $25 general admission and can be purchased at Winchester's front desk or online at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov.
Oscar Carrescia was born in Buenos Aires and performed in the National Symphony Orchestra of Argentina under the batons of such visiting conductors as Igor Stravinsky. Carrescia came to Las Vegas and is well known for performing on the Strip with Tony Bennett, Paul Anka and many other stars. In 1986, he founded the Las Vegas Youth Camerata Orchestra. Today, he continues to devote himself to music by teaching and conducting numerous community concerts.
