Clark County Poet Laureate to Host 'Poetry & Hot Cocoa' on Christmas Eve Day

​       Clark County Poet Laureate Heather Lang-Cassera will host a Poetry & Hot Cocoa gathering at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center on Tuesday, Dec. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m.

      "This will be a comfy and casual event," said Lang-Cassera. "We're gathering to spend some time together as a community."

       Clark County community members are invited to bring a few of their favorite family-friendly poems or to simply bring themselves. No poetry reading or writing experience is required.

       Free hot cocoa, while supplies last, will be available to all who attend. Additionally, winter-inspired crafts will be on site for the young and young at heart.

       "I just might wear my ugliest holiday sweater," says Lang-Cassera. "The afternoon will be fun!"

       Poetry & Hot Cocoa is an all-ages event and is free and open to the public. If possible, participants are encouraged to RSVP via email to the poet laureate at but they may simply attend, as well. The Winchester Dondero Cultural Center is located at 3130 McLeod Drive, just  north of Desert Inn Road in Las Vegas.
