Clark County's distinctive 'I Voted' sticker featuring Las Vegas Strip landmarks and resorts in red, white and blue has been officially recognized as one of the best in the country.
The U.S. Election Assistance Commission announced today that the Clark County sticker was one of five to win a 2019 Clearinghouse Award for Original and Creative "I Voted" Stickers.
"We are very proud of the concept we developed and how we were able to incorporate uniquely Las Vegas images," County Registrar of Voters Joe Gloria said. "When someone sees the sticker, they immediately know it's Vegas."
In 2016, the Election Department was running out of the round, blue 'I Voted' stickers they had been using and Gloria and his staff took the opportunity to design a new one. The new sticker is the distinctive diamond-shape of the 'Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas' sign, and features well-known images from the Strip including the Welcome sign, New York-New York's Statue of Liberty and The High Roller at The LINQ.
Nevada dominated the commission's contest as three of the five winners are from the Silver State. In addition to Clark County, the other winners are Douglas County and Washoe County, and the states of Alaska and Louisiana.
