Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson, Henderson Councilwoman Gerri Schroder, Nevada JobConnect and Workforce Connections' One Stop Delivery System are hosting a job fair at 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Henderson Convention Center, 200 S. Water Street, just south of Atlantic Avenue.
Employers and job seekers interested in attending the fair are encouraged to register at www.nvcareercenter.org/jobfair. Registration is not a requirement but is helpful to organizers. Job seekers also can call (702) 822-4229 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information.
"Residents in the mature Henderson neighborhoods are looking for new jobs and careers, and we are excited to offer this job fair as an opportunity to connect with a variety of local employers in a central location and in a welcoming atmosphere," said Commissioner Gibson. "I want to thank Nevada JobConnect, the One Stop Delivery System and our other community partners for helping us make this event possible."
"If you're in the market for a new job, this event will feature dozens of employers seeking employees to fill a number of available positions now," said Councilwoman Schroder. "This job fair also is an excellent opportunity for employers to meet skilled and ambitious people looking for opportunities to excel professionally."
Job seekers are encouraged to dress for success and to bring at least 30 copies of their current resumes to give to employers participating in the fair. The fair will offer job seekers opportunities to interview with representatives from multiple companies.
The goal of The One Stop Delivery System is to connect employers with a ready workforce, and to establish partnerships in the community that connect job seekers to education, training and employment opportunities. For more information visit the agency's website at: www.nvcareercenter.org.
