Commissioner Lawrence Weekly is hosting an information session for anyone interested in learning about sealing records or applying for a pardon from 6 to 8 p.m. on March 5 at the Pearson Community Center at 1625 W. Carey Avenue.
"While some crimes are too serious to forgive or forget, there are some youthful indiscretions that should not haunt a person for the rest of their life," Commissioner Weekly said. "This session will provide people with important information about how to move on from past mistakes."
The session will allow attendees to question practicing attorneys about the steps they need to take in order to have their record sealed, or how they seek a pardon.
The event is free to attend and no advance registration is required.
The session is being presented in partnership with Nevada Legal Services, the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada, and the UNLV William S. Boyd School of Law.
