Commission Chair Marilyn Kirkpatrick and Commissioner Tick Segerblom turned on a new traffic signal and formally unveiled significant improvements along Hollywood Boulevard this morning.
"This is a great project for the Eastside," Commission Chair Marilyn Kirkpatrick said. "The upgrades made an old road new again and made it easier for people to walk and ride a bike in this community."
"The improvements we've made along Hollywood Boulevard make it safer for drivers, pedestrians, and those riding a bike," said Commissioner Tick Segerblom, who represents this area.
The project included a complete repaving of Hollywood from Charleston to Lake Mead boulevards, a new walking path and bike lanes, changes to the traffic signal at Lake Mead and Hollywood to add a flashing yellow signal there, and a new traffic signal at Hollywood and Washington Avenue.
Las Vegas Paving was the contractor for the project.
