County Allowing Liquor Stores to Apply for License to Deliver

The County Department of Business License is temporarily allowing package liquor stores to offer delivery service of package liquor to customers in unincorporated Clark County during the Governor's Declaration of Emergency.

The businesses, which are generally liquor stores, need to apply for a temporary package liquor delivery license, which will be approved as soon as practicable. Once they have a temporary package liquor delivery license, those businesses will be allowed to deliver beer, wine, spirits-based products in addition to hard alcohol (rum, vodka, gin, whiskey, etc.) so long as the products are in the original, unopened containers. The license authorizes delivery in unincorporated Clark County only.

The Package Liquor Store must remain closed to the public. Therefore, curbside delivery is prohibited. All deliveries must be made to locations away from the licensed premises. Also, the business must not involve a third-party vendor such as Uber Eats, Door Dash, Postmates, etc. to provide this service. All deliveries must be made by the licensee's employees to the individual placing the order. The licensee is responsible for ensuring their respective employees are verifying the age of the purchaser and is ultimately responsible to the employee's actions. The business and activity must be in full compliance of the Governor's Emergency Directives regarding public health, including social distancing and sanitation. At this time, the temporary licenses will last through April 30, 2020, and may be extended by the director of the Department of Business License throughout the duration of the governor's mandated closures.

Interested businesses should submit written requests for this temporary license by email to James M. Headen at JamesH@clarkcountynv.gov, or by mail to 500 S. Grand Central Parkway, P.O. Box 551810, Las Vegas NV 89155-1810. Please include the application fee of $175 payable to the Department of Business License. Payments may be made online through a business' current liquor license account. License approvals will be sent via email to the businesses. Business owners will be notified when their license is updated and should be able to pay the fees under the miscellaneous fees tab online. Business owners are also asked to continue monitoring their email for any updates.
