Document Shredding and Prescription Drug Disposal Offered at Commissioner Event Saturday

Commission Vice Chairman Lawrence Weekly is hosting a spring cleanup event for residents to drop off unwanted prescription drugs, donate clothes, or have sensitive documents shredded from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, May 11, at the Walnut Community Center at 3075 N. Walnut Road.

"Anyone who has sensitive documents they want to throw away, or prescription drugs they no longer need should join us for our Spring Clean Up & Clean Out on Saturday," Vice Chairman Weekly said. "Securely disposing of personal information and medicines can help make your home, and your home finances, safer."

Residents may also bring unwanted clothes and other household items to the event to donate them. The event is free to attend.

Vice Chairman Weekly is partnering with Opportunity Village and the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department on this event.

Opportunity Village is providing the document shredding service, and will take donated clothes and other items from the event.

Metro Police is overseeing the prescription drug drop off part of this event.
