Empress Al-Yasha and Senses present a farewell performance before she moves to Germany on Saturday, February 16th at the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center at 7pm. Winchester Dondero Cultural Center is located at 3130 S. McLeod Drive, just north of Desert Inn Road. The eclectic singer/songwriter Empress Al-Yasha is internationally renowned for her diverse
compositions, vocal style and novel and fresh performances. She writes in the jazz-blues-and R&B idioms and entices you with the ambiance of her Caribbean roots. Vocally surging with wonderful colors and textures, Empress shares herself with her audience with total ease. Upbeat, humorous and inspiring, she presents her songs with emotion and style.
A seasoned musical performer, Empress has starred/co-starred in international musicals such as "The Lion King", "Sister Act", and "The Buddy Holly Story." She has performed and/or recorded with show-biz greats as diverse as Helene Fischer, Joe Cocker, Dr. John, Lee Konitz, Jocelyn Brown, Sandy Santana, Axel Zwingenberger, Roger Cicero and many more.
Performing throughout Europe for over twenty years, Empress Al-Yasha has toured with her quartet "Senses" and her quintet "Jazzy Motions", as well as with several Gospel choirs and her own gospel quintet the "Rite Spirit".
