King Ibu from Senegal brings an exhilarating blend of traditional West African folk music and contemporary arrangements at 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at Winchester Dondero Cultural Center, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, just north of Desert Inn Road. Tickets are $12 in advance and $14 on the day of the concert and can be purchased at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov or the Winchester front desk.
King Ibu plays guitar, the talking drum known as Boobah or Tama, and sings in five languages. His uplifting spiritual approach to storytelling and instrumentation creates an infectious backdrop of polyrhythms and fun grooves.
