Clark County Parks and Recreation, in cooperation with the Las Vegas Jazz Society, will celebrate the 41st anniversary of their annual Jazz Picnic from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 21 at Winchester Park, 3130 S. McLeod Drive, just north of Desert Inn Road.
A free tradition in Las Vegas since 1977, the picnic will feature the Tom Hall Simply Bop Septet, the New Generation Jazz Trio, Hot Cole the Las Vegas "Alto Madness Orchestra" with Tony Wells, Groove Conspiracy with Bill Callanan and, between acts, a roaming student group.
Members of the performing bands have decades of experience, playing up and down the Las Vegas Strip with production shows and with many stars.
Food will be offered for purchase. Bring your families, picnic lunches, blankets and lawn chairs for an afternoon of the finest jazz in the area.
