New Phone Number Announced for Delivering with Dignity Program

Starting Friday, April 3, callers requesting service through the Delivering with Dignity program are asked to call (888) 603-3548.

Due to the high call volume for the Delivering with Dignity program, UNLV Medical School student volunteers, working in conjunction with the Nevada Medical Center, will be processing requests for meals through the program. Callers who dial the new toll-free number will be asked to leave a message with their name and telephone number. Call takers are sorting through a backlog of requests for service and are working to return calls in a timely manner.

Delivering with Dignity was organized by Clark County Commission Chairman Marilyn Kirkpatrick and community partners as an emergency response system to provide meals, as a last resort, to the community's poorest and most vulnerable residents. Nonprofit agencies are identifying clients who most need the program based on key criteria: They are at highest risk for being exposed to coronavirus if they leave their homes according to CDC guidelines; they have no relatives or friends who can help them acquire groceries from a store or community donation site; they aren't being served by any other community agency for food provision; and they are financially unable to meet their food needs without leaving their homes and cannot afford to order takeout or delivery services.

"We are grateful to the amazing group of partners who put this pilot program together in a matter of days to help deliver food to seniors and other vulnerable, low-income residents who are at risk if they leave their homes," said Commissioner Kirkpatrick. "We appreciate any and all donations of time and money that can keep this vital service operating and expanding to meet critical needs within our community as we confront the challenges presented to us by coronavirus."
Launched as a pilot program on March 23, the program has delivered approximately 7,000 meals to vulnerable households and organizations serving the community's poor thanks to participating restaurants Honey Salt and Graffiti Bao and more than 100 volunteers, coordinated by United Way of Southern Nevada. This week in addition to delivering to homes, meals also are being dropped off at The Shade Tree Shelter and Share Village Las Vegas prepared by reemployed kitchen staff at Zappos. Thanks to support from Wynn Resorts, an additional 1,000 meals a day also are being provided to Catholic Charities of Southern Nevada this week.
