Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft will host a Hanukkah menorah lighting Monday, Dec. 30, 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Clark County Government Center at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway in downtown Las Vegas.
"Please join us as we light the menorah and enjoy jelly donuts in celebration of Hanukkah," said Naft. "Everyone is invited."
Hanukkah is celebrated this year from the beginning of Sunday, Dec. 22 through the evening of Monday, Dec. 30. The eight-day festival commemorates the rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after a group of Jewish warriors defeated occupying Greek armies. It celebrates the triumph of light over darkness and spirituality over materiality.
