The loop ramp connecting the Airport Connector south to 215 east, which carries traffic leaving the McCarran International Airport toward Henderson, will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. Monday, April 17, to 5 a.m. on Tuesday, April 18.
During the closure, motorists leaving the airport southbound on the Airport Connector toward 215 east will be detoured to Las Vegas Boulevard to regain access to 215 east. The closure is necessary to paint the newly-constructed improvements.
This work is part of the Phase 2 – Airport Connector Project, which includes construction of the new flyover ramp and bridge connecting southbound Airport Connector to eastbound 215, widening the off-ramp from eastbound 215 to Warm Springs Road and construction of a new bridge for that off-ramp, and the widening of a bridge carrying westbound 215 traffic over the Airport Connector. The entire project is expected to be finished in August 2017. Clark County's Public Works Department has set up a page on county's website at www.ClarkCountyNV.gov/public-works to provide details about the project. The public can also contact the department at (702) 455-6000 or via email at InTheWorks@ClarkCountyNV.gov for information.
Las Vegas Paving is the contractor for this project, which is being funded in part through Fuel Revenue Indexing. Fuel Revenue Indexing takes a portion of what motorists pay at the pump to fund critical transportation projects. For the average motorist, the cost is about a dime a day to generate up to $700 million to fund 220 projects and create approximately 9,000 jobs. For more information, go to www.rtcsnv.com/fri. To date, Fuel Revenue Indexing has made it possible for local governments to award 138 contracts with a combined value of more than $328 million and creating 4,231 jobs.
