County Commissioners and representatives from The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation turned the world-famous "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign blue today to Go True Blue in support of the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
"The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation provides much needed support for our police officers," Commission Chairman Steve Sisolak said. "The foundation provides funding for life-saving equipment for officers, and advanced, specialized training for Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department staff and the public."
"We are proud to join the Foundation to "Go True Blue" in support of Metro Police," Commissioner Larry Brown said. "Together we are encouraging Southern Nevada businesses, residents, and visitors to show their support with blue lights and social media posts to turn our community blue this month."
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department Foundation was established in 1999 as the non-profit umbrella for the police department. Donations to the foundation help fund LVMPD-related programs that prevent crime, save lives, and make our County a safer place to live, work and play.
