Step Up

Clark County Social Service operates the Funds to Assist Former Foster Youth (FAFFY) program in Clark County. The FAFFY program is funded by the State of Nevada under the Nevada Revised Statue 432.017 "Account to Assist Persons Formerly in Foster Care". In Clark County the FAFFY program is called "Step Up" and our goal is to assist "aged out" former foster care youth to make the transition from foster care to economic self-sufficiency. To qualify, youth need to have attained the age of 18 years old while a child in foster care in Nevada. This means they "aged out" of foster care (i.e. they were not adopted or reunified with family by the time they reached 18 years old).

We can assist qualified youth to attain economic self-sufficiency by providing them with certain goods and services including (but not limited to) case management, housing assistance, employment assistance, educational assistance, transportation assistance, and other services such as referrals.

Download the current guidelines for this program.

If you are an "aged out" former foster care youth, you are eligible to receive Medicaid coverage until the age of 26.  Download an application form.

If you are eligible for Step-Up services and would like to submit an application, download an intake form to get started.

If you are a Step Up participant and would like to submit a request for financial assistance, download a current request form.  All youth must also have a current tax exempt IRS W-9 form on file.
