A Melodramatic Western
Dastardly Deeds in the Desert is described as a throwback
to the old fashioned melodrama complete with heroes,
villains and odd ball characters. This is not Yellowstone!
The townspeople performers are all members of the Silver
Statesmen Barbershop Chorus and quartets. There may even
be some surprises, there usually are. Barbershop Harmony
will be ringing with such tunes as Danny Boy, Lida Rose, and
When You’re Smilin’. The storyline finds our characters in a
fictional Nevada town in the old west. The niece of a recently
deceased hotel owner finds she suddenly has two suitors,
Sheriff Justin Tyme and the greedy conniving, Simon Scowell.
A prospector and his sidekick donkey serve as the storytellers
of this cleverly written spoof.
