Clark County, NV, before you may vote in Clark County, NV. 

Qualifications for Registering to Vote

Registration Requirements
Before you register to vote in Clark County by completing a Voter Registration Application and submitting it to the Election Department, you must have the following qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship

  • At least 18 years old by Election Day

    • Tip:  If you are now 17 years of age, you may "preregister."

  • Continuously have resided in Clark County for at least 30 days and in your precinct for at least 10 days before the next election

  • Claim no other place as your legal residence

  • No felony conviction or other loss of civil rights that would make it unlawful for you to vote, unless your right to vote has been restored.

  • No court order stating you lack the mental capacity to vote


Three Deadlines Per Election
(1) The fourth Tuesday before Election Day is the last day to register to vote or update your registration without appearing in-person at the offices of the Clark County Election Department;

Extended in-office and online registration is during the next seven days, and you may register to vote or update your existing registration ONLY by appearing in-person at the Election Department offices or using the Secretary of State's website;
Two days of extended online registration and updates then follows when you may register to vote or update your existing registration ONLY on the Secretary of State's website.  The Election Department is NOT legally required to send you a sample ballot for the current election if you register or update your address during these two days.
