
Randall J. Tarr was appointed Deputy County Manager on June 1, 2010 by the Clark County Board of Commissioners. He serves as one of three Deputy County Managers in the Clark County Manager’s Office. Prior to the appointment, Tarr served as director of Clark County’s Real Property Management (RPM) Department from January 2008.
As Deputy County Manager, Tarr’s responsibilities include oversight of business and development-related departments such as Environment & Sustainability, Business License, Comprehensive Planning, Building, Parks & Recreation, Real Property Management, Fire and Public Works. He also is the County Manager’s representative to the Regional Transportation Commission of Southern Nevada, Regional Flood Control District, the Southern Nevada Health District, Las Vegas Valley Water District/ Southern Nevada Water Authority and the Water Reclamation District.
Tarr has more than 34 years experience working in the local development industry. Prior to joining Clark County, Tarr worked in senior executive management positions for Lewis Operating Corporation and KB Homes and had previous experience working for the City of North Las Vegas and Carter Burgess, Inc.
Tarr has a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and is a registered Professional Engineer in Nevada.
