Clark County recognizes the need to strategize with our local community-based organizations, ISPs, infrastructure partners, as well as County departments and state agencies, to create a path forward so that our residents and businesses can access the technology they need to fully participate in a rapidly evolving, global digital economy.

Over the last three (3) years, Clark County has been working to understand the root causes that have led to disparate broadband access across various communities within the County. This introspection has led to the development of a plan to prioritize broadband access and adoption by facilitating the following:

1. Expanding last mile broadband infrastructure through public-private partnerships and expanding the County’s Middle-Mile Connected Facilities Program;
2. Promoting access to digital devices and digital skills training programs;
3. Supporting the development of broadband training and apprenticeship programs in collaboration with local and state workforce entities;
4. Building County capacity by providing various departments and County case workers with the training and information necessary to promote awareness of broadband; resources with the constituents they serve, and
5. Proactive outreach and community engagement across Clark County through partnerships with local community-based organizations, educational institutions and health care organizations.

The County has developed its Broadband Adoption and Community Engagement (BACE) Plan as a roadmap to strategically implementing broadband infrastructure expansion and broadband adoption efforts through robust public-private partnerships, and effective outreach and engagement with stakeholders, businesses and residents in Clark County.

In the coming months, we aim to expand on our current website by creating an interactive hub for residents and businesses to connect with various ISPs, community-based organizations, and County agencies to obtain the services they need to fully participate and thrive in our digital economy.
